Orly airport: one runway closed until 17 December 2026, what it means for your arrival

Runway 4 at Paris-Orly is closed for works until 17 December 2026 inclusive. Delays are likely at peak times: how to avoid waiting when you land.

Since 10 August 2026, one of the three runways at Paris-Orly airport has been closed for a full renovation. According to the French Ministry of Ecological Transition, runway 4 stays closed until 17 December 2026 inclusive. Here is what it means if you land at Orly this autumn.

What is happening

  • Groupe ADP, the airport operator, is fully renovating runway 4 to European standards: new surface, aircraft taxiways and markings.
  • During the works, all landings and take-offs use the two other runways.
  • Orly’s night curfew (11:30 pm to 6 am) still applies.
  • With reduced capacity, several thousand flights have been cancelled, rescheduled or moved to Paris-Charles de Gaulle over the whole period, according to the operator and the airlines.

What it means for you

  1. Check your arrival airport. Some flights have been moved from Orly to Charles de Gaulle. Check your booking a few days before you travel.
  2. Expect delays at peak times, especially early morning and late afternoon.
  3. Don’t book a transfer for a fixed time. Give your flight number instead: your chauffeur follows the actual landing time.
